Students applying for grades 1–5 will spend a full day (8:30 am–3 pm) with a current grade-appropriate Sea Crest student. Prospective students will be expected to follow the schedule of the grade they are visiting, and will be evaluated by the teachers in all subjects. All students should bring a snack, lunch, and appropriate PE shoes, as Sea Crest students participate in PE every day.
In making admissions decisions, the admissions committee uses the application, the confidential evaluation from the child’s current teacher, and the observations from the student’s day on campus. At times, to gain a better sense of the students potential, we may invite a student back for a second shadow day, and/or will contact the student’s current teacher to elaborate on the completed evaluation form.
